I attended college at Wittenberg University in Springfield, OH, after graduating. There, I joined the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity, caving club, and I met my wife, Samantha.

After graduating from college, I moved out to Los Angeles to get a Master of Bioscience degree from Keck Graduate Institute (which is a cross between a MBA and masters in science - geared to the pharmaceutical industry). I got married back in Springfield after graduate school, and then started working at Allergan (the makers of Botox) in Irvine, CA, as a Clinical Research Associate (CRA).

I have worked as a CRA since then - moving to Cincinnati, OH, in 2003, and then Springfield, OH, in 2007. After criss-crossing the country, I hope to settle down; we just finished building our first house in Springfield.

Dwayne Fox and I have remained best friends since Columbian. I introduced him to caving in college, and I cannot keep him away from it (despite almost losing his life a few times). Recently, Dwayne provided some much needed assistance painting and moving into my new house.
